Automatic Car Lessons

Naas Driving Academy is pleased to anncounce the addition of an automaic car to our fleet. The differences between a manual car and an automatic car is that the driver does not need to change gear by themselves using a clutch pedal when driving an automatic. The automatic car does not have a clutch pedal as a manual does, therefore when driving an automatic the left foot does not need to be used.

Learning to drive in an automatic car is a popular choice for learners who find changing gear and using a clutch pedal difficult - which makes it a popular choice for the elderly learner or those with some restricting disability. If possible we would recommend someone try and learn in a manual car as each new driver needs to do 12 EDT lessons which gives the driver good opportunity to learn with the manual, then if they find the operation of the clutch or gear changes to be difficult then move to an automatic car.

If you choose to learn and take the driving test in an automatic car your driving licence will only allow you to drive an automatic car, if you wish to drive a manual car you would need to take another driving test in a manual car.
